Old ballet shoes never die. They are vehement supporters of their art, and on February 22nd, they come back to life to raise funds for Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida.
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will host a preview reception to celebrate the second edition Arts en Pointes on Friday, February 22, 2013, from 7 pm to 9 pm. Over thirty artists participated in this special project, using ballet shoes to create one-of-a-kind works that will be auctioned to benefit the dance company’s programs. The exhibit, curated by Francine Rozencwaig, will be displayed at Caridi Gallery in North Miami.
Local and international artists including Mirna Salamanques, Aguasanta Erminy, Liliana Gerardi, Jorge Dager, Nestor Paz, Claire Prince, Alicia Erminy, Al Blanco, Clara Poupel, Jane Bazinet, Cesar Murillo, Eduardo Caridi, Ibrahiim Guerra, Kate McCavitt, Terry Ritter, Corine Wakeland, Gregg Rivero, Lauramar Yee, Beatriz Sanchez, Monica Mercedes, Wendy Starling, Daniel Mendez, Cynthis Hernandez, Orlando Urdaneta, Patricia Garcia, Ana Maria Leonardi, Carlos Tirado, Cesar Murillo, Sonia Angel, Pilar, Batlle, Luis Andarcia, Sndra del Valle, generously donated the beautiful pieces that will be auctioned on Saturday, February 23, from 7 pm to 9 pm. A special cocktail reception with live entertainment will take place to celebrate this special event that will be open to the public free of charge.
