The Hangar Hosts Free Preview of Design District’s First Tango Opera

Performances are scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m., 8:20 p.m., and 9:10 p.m.
Florida Grand Opera (FGO) and THE HANGAR host an Opera Preview of the Design District’s very first operatic production during Second Saturday Art Walk on March 9 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Designed to give the community a taste of Florida Grand Opera’s anticipated Design District debut, the evening will feature selections from the company’s tango-themed double bill – Robert Xavier Rodriguez’s Tango and Ãstor Piazzolla’s MarÃa de Buenos Aires – as well as popular arias performed by the company’s Young Artist Studio alongside a Steinway piano sponsored by Steinway & Sons Miami.
Performances will take place every hour amid THE HANGAR’s current exhibition “Miami Minds,†a mix media show depicting Miami’s graffiti subculture as well as portraits breaking conventional standards of appearance.
