Communities In Schools of Miami, Inc Hosts “Under the Big Top Gala” to Benefit Youth

Come one, come all to Communities In Schools of Miami’s (CIS) “Under the Big Top†annual fundraising gala and dinner featuring student acrobats, dancers, singers and a live band replicating “the best show on earth†on April 13, 2013, at The Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a sunset cocktail hour and complimentary Bacardi spirits followed by a five-course, sit down dinner.
Local CBS TV anchor and producer Cynthia Demos will preside as the “Ring Master†side-by-side with a student Emcee. Guests have a chance to bid on rare silent auction items including an autographed guitar from Jimmy Buffet, all-inclusive vacation packages, luxury jewelry, spa treatments and more.
Tickets for CIS’ largest annual philanthropy event are priced at $175 each and all proceeds go to benefit CIS of Miami, an affiliate of the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization, proven to increase on-time graduation rates and decrease dropout rates.
In 2012, the event raised more than $80,000 to fund dropout prevention programs for local Miami-Dade students including after school programs, tutoring, mentoring and other programs.
