Conducted by T. Wheeler Castillo
During Dwntwn Art Days
With anticipation building toward the second annual DWNTWN Art Days, a three-day celebration of unique cultural experiences, the Miami Downtown Development Authority commissioned artist T. Wheeler Castillo to curate a series of FREE walking tours showcasing the burgeoning downtown art scene. Wheeler Castillo has threaded relevant conversations in contemporary art through four immersive experiences of key subjects within the neighborhood.
Walking Tours will feature a variety of subjects specific to downtown Miami, including Architecture and Art Spaces. Walking Tours no. 2 and 4 titled: An Object, A Craft, and An Idea – are curated experiences exploring the various stages of pieces of art, including each medium’s history and craft, and how each is related to current debate and practice. Tours are open to all Downtown visitors, and will include visits to respective historical and culturally relevant buildings, private collections and artist studios and spaces, either on foot or via the Metromover.
