Slow Food Miami, the local, 100% volunteer non-profit dedicated to planting a fresher future for our children, will kick-off of its new “Snail Social†event series on Monday, October 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Essensia at The Palms Hotel, South Beach. All are welcome to join Snail of Approval winner and garden-to-table pioneer, Chef Julie Frans, and local family farmer, Teena Borek of TeenasPride CSA and heirloom tomato fame, along with other celebrated chefs, farm-to-table supporters and Slow Food Miami board members for a casual, social outing in support of Slow Food Miami. Guests will enjoy special Happy Hour prices on signature bites and cocktails to celebrate the season in Essensia’s lounge, while they mingle and discuss the latest in local food culture with those leading the charge. During the evening, guests can also explore Essensia’s Organic Chef’s garden which supplies fresh harvest for many of Julie’s signature dishes and serves as an educational venue for children and the community. This event is free and open to the public. Discounted valet will also be available during the event.
