There’s nothing better than Basel, Bacon and Beer, unless of course you have all three. Fortunately, The Basel Biergarten is back for another round. From Thursday Dec. 5 at 4pm through Saturday Dec. 7th, Wynwood art enthusiasts, local music lovers and foodies alike, will have a go-to haven popping up at 2600 NW 2nd Avenue, in the heart of the neighborhood. “The focus of the event is local: local artists, local beer, local musicians. We work closely with Brown Distributing and support their Drink Like a Local campaign,” says co-founder Andres Barrientos.
The Basel Biergarten team comprised of Chef Andres Barrientos and Chef James Bowers of Miami Smokers, Gaudi Castro, Brandon Brugal and Mixed Media Collective will continue their annual Basel week tradition, combining beer, bacon, street art and music. The pop-up Biergarten, in conjunction with the Drink Like a Local Campaign, will be serving up top craft beers from Florida breweries.
In addition, Barrientos and Bowers will be launching a new taco shop concept, “Smokeys Cantina” and serving their signature Miami Smokers Candied bacon, bacon jerky and other smoked treats, creating perfect beer-friendly pairings. The 7,000 square foot outdoor space will be transformed with lush Florida plants, 1000 feet of strung lighting and eclectic seating to create a one of a kind pop-up biergarten experience. Several notable artists including Daniel (Krave) Fila and Atomiko will be painting live during the festivities.
The Biergarten will also showcase live music daily by Gummdrops, a local collaborative platform that shines a light on some of the citys best emerging talent. Gummdrops in collaboration with Jolt Radio will be broadcasting live from the Biergarten, so you can expect some your favorite local bands to drop in for sets daily. In keeping with the Miami Smokers motto; “We believe in the art of doing things the right way -no shortcuts or cutting corners,” guests can expect nothing but the best local art, music, eats and of course, beer.
