Explore fascinating and easily accessible techniques in colored, translucent porcelain with artist Curtis Benzie, whose translucent, sculptural vessels and architectural lighting are represented in major museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY and Smithsonian Museum of American Art. Open to all ability levels, this two-day workshop will include demonstrations as well as hands-on experience, and will focus on a variety of topics including relief carving, color additions, colored clay techniques and porcelain formulas.
Curtis Benzile has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the arts and Ohio Arts Council, and is Professor Emeritus and former Chair of Dimensional Studies at Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio.
