Join us in celebration of a New Year at The Poetry Buffet, as we present poet, artist, and photographer Diego Quiros. Diego was born in Havana, spent his early childhood in Spain and traveled to the United States to the United States by himself at age 10. As a teenager he was drawn to photography. His interest in chemistry, optics and electronics led him to study physics and math, which eventually led to an Engineering degree. His photographs have been featured in the Miami New Times, Google Earth, Yahoo Weather, and most recently, on a six-page interview with South Florida Opulence Magazine. He has taken part on solo and collaborative installations in Miami, Chicago and New York. Diego is also an accomplished writer, he published a collection of poems under the title “Alchetry” in 2009. The book had a run of 500 copies, which were mostly sold at local bookstores and online. He has also read his poetry on public radio, the New World Symphony, and at various local venues.
