Orchestra Miami is proud to continue its series of Free Outdoor Concerts, with three performances of “Beethoven on the Beach, Part III: Clash of the Titansâ€. These concerts are presented as a gift to the community, completely free of charge. The concerts are co-sponsored by the City of Sunny Isles Beach, the City of Miami Beach and Atlantic Broadband.
• Saturday, March 8, 2014; 8:00 PM at the North Shore Park Bandshell (also known as the “73rd Street Bandshellâ€), located at 7250 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Bleacher seating available, but you may also bring your own lawnchair. Concessions available (all proceeds go to support Orchestra Miami) or bring a picnic. Municipal parking available in the lot on the west side of Collins Avenue between 72nd & 73rd streets (free after 6 PM). Children’s activities available prior to the concert.
“Beethoven on the Beach, Part III: Clash of the Titans†features works by Rossini, Mendelssohn and Beethoven, conducted by Orchestra Miami’s Artistic Director, Elaine Rinaldi. This year’s concert begins with the light-hearted Overture to La Scala di Seta by Gioacchino Rossini, followed by the unforgettable Concerto for Violin in E Minor, Op. 64 by Felix Mendelssohn, featuring Orchestra Miami’s Concert Master, Mei Mei Luo, as the soloist. The concert ends with Beethoven’s joyous Symphony N. 2 in D Major, Op. 36.
