Locust Projects will celebratethe good life at its 2014 Spring Fling: La Dolce Vita, on April 26 at the critically acclaimed Herzog & De Meuron designed 1111 Building on Lincoln Road.Locust Projects’ Spring Fling has become a highlight of the Miami social calendar, bringing art lovers together for a unique evening featuring art, delicious food, drinks, music –and LocustProjects’ first-ever silent auction of fine wines, led by Eric Larkee, Wine Director of the Genuine Hospitality Group.

A host committee including power-house names like Debra &Dennis Scholl, The Related Group, Art Basel Miami Beach, Leni Sender, Craig Robins, John Speers, Greenberg Traurig LLP, and Holland &Knight LLP teamed up for the planning of this signature event, which consistently attracts a diverse and enthusiastic group of South Florida’s top collectors, enthusiasts, artists, and hipsters.

In signature Locust Projects fashion, Spring Flingattendees will have all of their senses tickled as they are treated to delectable treats from Michael Schwartz’sDesign District brainchild, Harry’s Pizzeria, Miami Beach’s Shake Shack, Baires Gril, Machialina, MC Kitchen, The Federal, and Misha’s Cupcakesto name a few. The Silent Luxury Auction will include a Neiman Marcus shopping spree; gift certificates to restaurants; handbags by Tod’s and Ralph Lauren; experiences at the Miami City Ballet and the Perez Art Museum Miami,and much more! Guests can also dance to musicfrom DJ Le Spamand marvel at the views.

But the highlight of the evening is Locust Projects’ blockbuster Silent Art Auction featuring hand-picked and internationallyrenowned artists such as Daniel Arsham, Justin Beal, Evan Nesbit, Judith Eisler, Ruby Sky Stiler, Sean Duffy, and Anthony Pearson among others.

As a hallmark that makes Locust Projects stand out from other art venues, Locust Projects embraces cutting-edge exhibitions and innovative installations. “We are celebrating more than 15 yearsof providing local, national and internationally based contemporary visual artists the freedom to experiment with new ideas and methods without the limitations of conventional exhibition spaces. Community support has always been vital to Locust Projects’ success and the Spring Fling is one of Locust Projects’ most important sources of revenue for the year” says Locust Projects Executive Director, Chana Sheldon. The proceeds from this event provide essential funding for exhibitions and programming.

Locust Projects is a not for profit exhibition space dedicated to providing contemporary visual artists the freedom to experiment with new ideas without the pressures of gallery sales or limitations of conventional exhibition spaces. Local, national and international artists are encouraged to create site-specific installations as an extension of their representative work.
