Join Meryl Comer, a New York Times best-selling author, as she discusses her new book, Slow Dancing with a Stranger. She’ll share her unvarnished account of her physician husband’s early onset battle with Alzheimer’s disease, one of today’s most pressing and least-understood health epidemics. Comer takes on the medical community’s inclination to not diagnose the disease because they can’t treat it, inpatient management nightmares, and the despair of families left to manage bizarre behaviors at home and alone. She paints an intimate and moving portrait of Alzheimer’s and, in the process, Comer reveals the truth about the disease and everyone it affects.
