A Bahamian Junkanoo musical parade, stilt-walkers and a steel drum band create an island-vibe at this all-day celebration. Specialty restaurants serve delectable fish and seafood dishes, and south Florida celebrity chefs Dean Max, Cindy Hutson, Paula DaSilva, Damian Gilchrist and Todd Erickson host cooking demos. Save time for a pontoon boat ride, nature hikes, tours of the historic homes and a stroll around Artists’ Lane. On the main stage, Caribbean Crew, Fourth Dimension Reggae and Mr. Nice Guy bands provide on-going entertainment. Kids can have unlimited fun in the Lil’ Shrimp Kids Zone and can become junior scientists with hands-on activities in the Deering Discovery Cove. Proceeds from the Deering Seafood Festival benefit the Deering Estate Foundation for preservation, educational programs and restoration of the historic Estate.
