As Baltimore jumps knee deep into the struggle, the Black Lives Matter movement has evolved into the Black Spring. And in the media we are witnessing a polarizing debate about the acceptance, inevitability and effectiveness of the eruptions in the street. Unfortunately, the question is usually posed in very simplistic terms: For, or Against violence.

We need a deeper analysis, so this is the perfect time to watch Concerning Violence – an unforgettable film that combines unseen footage of the African liberation movements of the 20th century with Frantz Fanon’s deep analysis on the relationship between violence and resistance.
