Born and raised in Wisconsin, Grace is currently based in Brooklyn and has just released her self-defining second album, The Refinery, produced by Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris, Neville Brothers) and Geoff Stanfield (Firehorse, Mieka Pauley). Often labeled an “old soul,†Grace’s music is grounded in powerful soul, roots and gospel sounds, with her voice and songwriting as the centerpiece.
Grace has toured internationally, including appearances on Oprah, Showtime at the Apollo, NPR’s Mountain Stage, The Today Show, World Café Live, The Barns at Wolf Trap, the Kennedy Center, SXSW and at other venues across the U.S. and the UK. Grace has also opened for acts such as Ben Taylor, Marc Broussard, A Great Big World, Colin Hay and Rick Springfield.
Grace was recently listed as one of NPR’s “One To Watch†at SXSW and her new album has been featured on USA TODAY, Refinery 29, and Access Hollywood. Grace was also listed as one of Buzzfeed’s “11 Independent Artists Who Are Making A Name for Themselves,†with Buzzfeed describing Grace as, “Kimbra meets Lianne La Havas. She’s an old soul with new boogie shoes.â€
The Refinery, released on October 7th, 2014, reached #5 on the iTunes’ singer-songwriter charts. Grace’s first single, Perfect Stranger, has begun to hit specialty, college, and triple A radio waves and her second single, Till I Hurt You, recently premiered on Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco.
