Help support programs dedicated to eliminating the digital divide and the homework gap in Miami. EveryoneOn, a national nonprofit supported in significant part locally by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, is participating in GiveMiamiDay 2015, a 24-hour online fundraiser to help energize its local activities to connect low-income families to affordable high-speed home Internet. For many Miami-Dade students, sitting in a McDonald’s parking lot, a city park, or riding public transportation is the only way to complete homework assignments. This not only puts them at a disadvantage, but keeps the family from accessing opportunities and information which could open doors to a brighter future. Don’t let Miami-Dade families rely on unsecure mobile phone Internet or public wifi, get them connected!
