Beach Bar @ Newport Pier will host a book signing event for Lucas Ryan’s new fantasy novel “The Battle for Life”, inspired by his own struggle to defeat cancer. Lucas Ryan was only eight years old when he was diagnosed with High Risk Lymphoblastic T-cell Lymphoma. Ryan, now 11-years-old, founded the Lucas Ryan Foundation to offer financial help for families affected by pediatric cancer and provide grant wishes for children battling cancer. Attendees can purchase Ryan’s book at the event for $19. Guests can also take advantage of Beach Bar’s weekly Sake Sushi Thursdays featuring freshly made sushi and drink specials. All proceeds from the book signing as well as 10% of the evening’s food and beverage sales will benefit The Lucas Ryan Foundation.
