The Miami Design District now offers free guided art tours in the neighborhood!
The Miami Design District, in addition to its plentiful retail and culinary offerings, the neighborhood’s 18-block area is home to an array of contemporary artworks and beautifully designed, one-of-kind building facades. From John Baldessari’s “Fun (Part 1)” and “Fun (Part 2)” to Xavier Veilhan’s “Le Corbusier” along with the iconic site-specific Buckminster Fuller Fly’s Eye Dome, guests to the area can now learn about the over 30 public pieces of art on display through free tours in partnership with Arts Encounters founder, Margery Gordon.
The free public art tours will coincide with the MDD’s Family Day activities, the second Sunday of each month starting at 2:30 PM and with MDD’s farmer’s market, Market #atMDD, on the last Wednesday of each month starting at 6 PM. Participants are asked to reserve a spot in the tour via the Miami Design District website, however walk-ups are welcome. www.miamidesigndistrict.net/art-tours.
The first FREE Miami Design District Public Art Tours will kick off in September on:
Sunday, September 10th at 2:30 PM
Meeting point: Moore Building, 4040 NE 2nd Avenue
