Orchestra Miami’s Nicklaus Children’s Pinecrest Outpatient Center Family Fun Series continues with “Storytime with Strings”. Meet the string section of Orchestra Miami, led by guest conductor Oscar Bustillo, as they perform two fabulous fairy tales and other works for strings! The fun takes place on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Pinecrest Gardens (where there’s always free parking!), 11000 SW 57 Avenue, Pinecrest, 33156.
Special guest Gonzalo Garcia-Castro narrates the story of “Rumplestiltskin” told through the music of Mozart’s Symphony N. 40 and “The Three Little Pigs”, told through the music of Beethoven’s famous Fifth Symphony. Also on the program are Bartok’s evocative Romanian Dances, La Cumparsita and an original composition by Oscar Bustillo, “Cuarteto Cafecito”. The program lasts approximately one hour and is appropriate for children of all ages. Come early and enjoy the “instrument petting zoo” courtesy of Allegro Music Center, and stay after for juice and cookies!
