To hell with the moon over Miami. This city is about its stars, not only the celestial kind, but also the ones who walk the red carpet, play roles in film, sprint down the athletic field, or make masterpieces in the kitchen. The Magic City’s most prominent players do amazing things, and New Times’ Best of Miami® issue is here to celebrate them. This edition will soon name more than 300 of the area’s finest restaurants, hottest clubs, most delightful diversions, and top places to shop.

New Times’ Best of Miami® Release Party will be held at X Miami Thursday, June 21, from 8 to 11 p.m. X Miami is a new social apartment community designed for the most fun and convenient living experience in the heart of downtown. Party attendees will be among the first to experience the lobby cocktail lounge, picnic courtyard, sky-view social hall, and Vegas-style pool deck. Guests of the Best of Miami® Release Party will enjoy culinary delights for the first time by a multitude of local restaurants, including 107 Steak & Bar, Amour de Miami, Fifi’s on the Beach, Doggi’s Arepa Bar, Diced, Giardino Gourmet Salads, K. Ramen. Burger. Beer., Lobster Bar Sea Grille, Poke Life, Rosetta the Italian Bakery, Sweet Treats by Me, Mason, and Yarumba. While enjoying these great bites, attendees can sip specially crafted cocktails by Banyan Reserve Vodka, Canna Vinus Wine, Coopers Craft Bourbon, Gemma di Luna Wine, Koloa Rum Company, Finlandia Vodka, Oak & Palm Coconut Rum, VOGA Italia Wine, Tippler’s Orange Liqueur, and many others.

A new tradition begins at New Times’ Best of Miami® Release Party: The 2017 Best Charity winner will be the beneficiary of this year’s event. In 2017, Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired was chosen as Best Charity and will receive a portion of the ticket sales from this event. Founded in 1931 as the Florida Association of Workers for the Blind, Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired has changed more than just its name during its 85-year history as Florida’s premier rehabilitation organization of serving the blind. Miami Lighthouse now serves nearly 15,000 people each year and reaches an additional 3,300 through community education and outreach programs.
