To honor all that law enforcement members and first responders do to keep the public safe, Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill’s Fort Lauderdale location is hosting its 3rd Annual Law Enforcement First Responders Appreciation Day. Members of law enforcement and first responders, their family and friends, and the public are encouraged to come enjoy a fun-filled event. Guests will enjoy:
• National Anthem by Jenna DelGardo, local singer
• Wreath ceremony
• Missing Man Tables (tables set to commemorate fallen soldiers)
• Police Pipe & Drum Corps of Florida
• Battle of the Beast Burger Challenge: Three teams (Police, Firefighter, Coast Guard) with two members each will take on Bokamper’s Beast Burger Challenge (eating Bokamper’s “The Beast” ― 4 pounds of Bokamper’s proprietary burger blend, six slices of Applewood smoked bacon, six slices of American cheese, four fried eggs and American fries). The first team to complete the challenge will win a trophy and bragging rights.
• Raffle for 55” HDTV ($2 raffle ticket = one entry) based on a “bet” regarding which team will win the Battle of the Beast Burger Challenge. A name will be drawn out of the winning team’s bucket to declare a raffle winner. All raffle proceeds will benefit the Bryant Peney Scholarship Foundation, which awards scholarships to children of fallen officers.
All first responders will enjoy a buy one, get one beer offer between 4–7 p.m. at ALL Bokamper’s locations on Sept. 11.
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis and Fort Lauderdale Chief of Police Rick Maglione will be in attendance.
Also at the event will be the police departments from Plantation, Doral, Miami, Miramar, Wilton Manors and Miami; as well as Springfield, Massachusetts; and Jersey City, New Jersey. Police and fire departments from Hollywood, Seminole, Defenders LEMC, and Fort Lauderdale will be on-site. In addition, BSO Swat, Color Guard, Honor Guard, Mounted Police Department Horse, Coast Guard, Marine Patrol, Motor Patrol, Boston State Police, and Lauderdale-By-The-Sea BSO & Fire will be at the event. Guests will be able to view a SWAT Beat Cat Truck, fire trucks, NYPD car, and fire boat.
