Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is thrilled to present the Fanni Sarkozy Ensemble as part of its monthly “Jazz at MOCA” series. Sarkozy is an internationally recognized, highly trained pianist, award-winning composer, singer and music educator who is equally proficient in jazz and classical music.
As an honors graduate of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, Sarkozy and two friends formed the band “Mizar,” whose effort and proficiency led them to win numerous jazz and pop competitions in Hungary and abroad. Sarkozy began to write music and in 2010 Mizar won first prize in the International Songwriting Contest in the jazz category with a song called “No Time to Lose.”
Sarkozy is also known for writing music for films, radio commercials and documentaries. In 2015, she worked with the famous film director, Pal Sandor, as a music specialist in the Hungarian film “Vandorszineszek” and in 2016, she began to write music for the film “The Amphibious.”
The public is invited to enjoy the jazz rhythms of the Fanni Sarkozy Ensemble, rain or shine! The museum will be closed for installation of its upcoming exhibition.
