Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is pleased to announce that the MOCA MiniMakers program is now free with a new sponsorship from the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association (SFADA). MiniMakers is a series of fun, hands-on art workshops using a variety of mediums and artistic inspirations for ages 6-12 years old that allows children to learn painting, drawing, sculpting, and mixed media techniques to create take-home masterpieces, with a different theme each month. The museum will celebrate with a Free Family Day on Saturday, Oct. 26. Guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.
Families will have the opportunity to participate in a day of fun-filled, fall carnival-themed activities in the MOCA courtyard including a bounce house, not so spooky face painting, carnival games and more. Hands-on art activities led by MOCA Educators will be free, with all supplies included and for a variety of ages including mini pumpkin painting, a collaborative “Fall Wall” and spooky lanterns. Guests will enjoy live entertainment and performances by local artists, photo opportunities and a great family atmosphere. Food from local food trucks and snow cones will be also available for purchase.
Guests will have the chance to win tickets to the Miami International Auto Show, taking place at The Miami Beach Convention Center on Nov. 1 – 10. Recognized as one of the largest and most prestigious in the nation, the Miami International Auto Show showcases more than 500 new vehicles from most of leading manufacturers from around the world – a collection that auto enthusiasts wait all year to see.
With the support of South Florida Automobile Dealers Association (SFADA), MOCA MiniMakers Sponsored by SFADA is now a free program. Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay and create with their children. All supplies and instruction are included. Projects are inspired by current exhibitions and fine-art techniques which lead to creative exploration.
