MADD Broward County is kicking off the 10th anniversary of Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K with an uplifting and meaningful event at BBX Capital in Fort Lauderdale. Guests will enjoy light bites and canapés from Bravo Peruvian Cuisine, sweets by Hoffman’s Chocolates, mocktails, a silent auction, raffle prizes and more. Money raised stays in this community to save lives and support victims of drunk driving.
Special guests include MADD National Board Chair Heather Geronemus, Matthew “Whiz” Buckley, Major Robert Chandler and other local dignitaries.

The 10th Anniversary Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5k will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Huizenga Plaza in Fort Lauderdale. More than 3,000 walkers and runners are expected to attend the event, chaired again this year by Volunteer Chairperson and Founder Heather Geronemus. Joining Geronemus on April 26 are honorary chairs Matthew ‘Whiz’ Buckley and Major Robert Chandler, commander of Troop L, the Florida Highway Patrol’s third largest troop. Since it was launched in 2011, Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K has raised over $2 million, making it the most successful grassroots fundraiser in the history of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
