Join your Little Havana neighbors for the first of many Barrio Parties on 5th. Help kick off and celebrate SW 5th Street’s recent designation as a Play Street as part of Transform 5th.

Schedule: On 5th we Play!
– 2:00PM: Barrio Party and Games Begin!
– 3:00PM: Play Street Ceremony with Commissioners Carollo & Higgins
– 3:30PM – 6:00PM: Play, Play Play: Games for All Ages

About Transform 5th Street:
The focus of this project is to transform SW 5th Street between SW 3rd Ave and 4th Ave in Little Havana into a fully accessible public space for all community members. The street currently separates Jose Marti Park into two isolated sections but can quickly become a space where community members can gather, community events will occur, and people feel safer and more attracted to the park overall.

Working with Little Havana residents, we are bringing a series of activities and events — all inspired by local community members — to SW 5th Street. The goal is to close the street for pedestrian and community use, as an extension of the Jose Marti Park area.
