In honor of Martin Luther King Day, Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel is hosting a pop-up art exhibit in partnership with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau’s acclaimed Art of Black initiative. The local Black artist, Nate Dee will be displaying several curated pieces in the hotel lobby for all guests and locals alike to enjoy this weekend. In addition, there will be an intimate meet and greet on Saturday, January 15th from 5-6pm in the lobby as well, where guests can connect directly with the artist to learn more about the displayed works. Born and raised in South Florida, Nate has numerous influences including his Haitian background and the use of color in a lot of Haitian art, and the street art of the area. His work draws inspiration from the design quality of the Art Nouveau movement and the drama of Greek art from the Hellenistic. RSVPs are not required as the events are open to both guests and the public.
