Outstanding high school scholarship winners and a range of performers from across the Broward County Public School District perform in the annual program of ensemble and solo performances in dance, music and theater. Admission to the evening performance is free and open to the public.
Visual arts of student artwork will be on display in the theater lobby. Additionally, 30 graduating seniors will each receive a $1,000 Arts for the Future Scholarship to continue their studies in the visual, performing and technical arts at colleges, universities and educational training institutions.
Shawn Cerra, director of athletics and student activities for the School Board of Broward County, will be honored at the reception for his important contributions to Student Enrichment for the Arts (SEAS), a partnership between the School Board and the Broward Center that provides curriculum-driven performances to approximately 125,000 students a year attend free of charge.
The Arts for the Future Scholarship Fund is a community-wide initiative to promote artistic career opportunities for graduating seniors. One of the largest programs of its kind in the nation, the Fund has bestowed scholarships to nearly 1,000 talented high school seniors since 1999.
