The 12th Annual Magnolia Luncheon, hosted by United Way of Broward County’s Women United, is taking place on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
The annual luncheon recognizes women of dignity, strength, and perseverance.
As the first female soldier to lose a limb in the Iraq War, Melissa Stockwell was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. She turned to sports for her recovery and is a 3-time Paralympian and a bronze medalist in the sport of Paratriathlon. She co- founded Dare2tri Paratriathlon Club to help other people with disabilities get into triathlons and is the proud mother of two. She is still training with hopes of her 4th Paralympics in Paris next year!
This year’s Co-Chairs are Lonnie Maier and Carol Cutler, and the Women United Chair is Laurie-Ann Minoff.
Formed in 2010, Women United was created to encourage women leaders within the community to pledge a commitment to United Way of Broward County. Each year, Women United focuses its efforts on specific priority United Way projects.
Price: To attend, there is a minimum gift amount of $1,000 to United Way of Broward County’s annual campaign, plus a $100 fee. Those who contribute $2,500 or more are invited to attend the VIP reception.
