It’s a new year with new jobs!
CareerSource Broward and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, and Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce jointly present the “State of the Workforce” inaugural event on Wednesday, January 24, at the Broward County Convention Center (1950 Eisenhower Blvd.). This event will unite all sectors of the business community and will include a Career Fair, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Jobseekers will have the opportunity to speak directly with recruiters and apply for jobs on the spot. Attendees will receive onsite résumé assistance and help with job searches and referrals from a Success Coach. Workforce professionals will also be on hand to deliver information on scholarships for educational and training opportunities that could lead to new career prospects.
Participating companies seeking to hire include Advanced Roofing, Broward Health, Broward Sheriff’s Office, City of Fort Lauderdale, Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Beach, Economos Properties, Florida Atlantic Research and Development Authority, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 487, Marine Industries Association of South Florida, Rick Case Automotive Group, The Riverside Hotel, Total Marine Solutions, Travelhost Media, Visit Lauderdale and more to be announced. Registrants are required to bring a valid state or government issued photo ID – driver’s license or passport – and dress to impress. Veterans will receive priority service.
Broward County Transit will be providing complimentary transportation to jobseekers. Parking is also complimentary, courtesy of Visit Lauderdale.
