The Forward Motion Dance Festival and Conference of Physically Integrated Dance (FM5) celebrates their fifth year with two days of distinct programs: the first day features works by acclaimed guest choreographers and dance artists, and a premiere of KPD’s latest work by Karen Peterson Corash. The following conference day offers a dynamic set of workshops including physically integrated ballroom dance and improvisation, as well as thought-provoking discussions.
FM5 is proud to collaborate with The Spirit of Goodwill band, a unique group of inclusive musicians with a wide range of musical abilities joined through the power of music.
This festival also showcases the choreography and performances of renowned artists including Polish international dance champions Pawel Karpinski & Magdalena Matusiak; California’s Julie Crothers, guest choreographer Miami-native, Atlanta-based Mark Travis Rivera.

Forward Motion is one of the first festivals and conferences anywhere in the world showcasing physically integrated (PI) dance artists and choreography. This groundbreaking contemporary dance form – inclusive of those with and without disabilities, on stage, and in the audience – challenges artistic and societal perceptions of what defines physical beauty and beautiful movement.
Tickets for the performances and workshops are priced between $20-$25 and are available for purchase starting March 1, 2024.
