The Jay I. Kislak Collection of the Early Americas, Exploration and Navigation came to the University of Miami as a donation in 2018. Comprising historical moments of cultural encounters across the Americas, ranging from the colonial period in Latin America to the United States’ westward expansion to Polar expeditions, the Kislak Collection’s breadth makes it a thought-provoking, interdisciplinary resource of primary research materials.

Join Daniel Arbino and Arthur Dunkelman in a conversation moderated by Carol Damian as they discuss the beginnings of the collection, the motivations behind its trajectory, recent acquisitions, and future directions.
