Join Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and PATH to Hip Hop for a back-to-school kickoff featuring inspiring art, history, and cultural expression for visitors of all ages.
Celebrate back to school and Hip Hop Recognition Month with exciting activities centered around elements of hip hop. Try your hand at Graffiti, explore physical movement through “breaking,” and learn more about the music and histories that shaped hip hop culture, all while making art on PAMM’s waterfront terrace.
Explore our latest exhibition, Xican-a.o.x. Body, and discover how the artwork themes and hip hop are connected through movements of cultural self-determination. As architects of the hip hop cultural production, Black, Latine, and Caribbean American youth influenced many aspects of contemporary life, including music, fashion, art, film, politics, and more.
Admission is free all day. Art activities are from 11am–3pm.
Support
PAMM Free Second Saturdays are presented by PNC Arts Alive, Publix Super Market Charities, and The Edward C. Fogg, III and Lisbeth A. Fogg Charitable Trust. The program is made possible by endowed funds granted by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Heckscher Foundation for Children to underwrite the museum’s broad portfolio of education programs. Together with leadership support from Miami-Dade County, these funders enable the museum to transform the lives of young people in our community through our art education programs.
