Fort Lauderdale’s Lona Cocina & Tequileria, by celebrated Chef Pablo Salas, is known for its innovative Mexican cuisine as well as its extensive selection of tequila. Each month, the oceanfront hotspot hosts a special immersive dinner, matching a featured tequila producer or producers with a culinary theme, giving tequila and culinary enthusiasts something special to look forward to. The monthly dinner series – which takes place in Lona’s intimate Chef’s Table private dining room – transcends the ordinary with culinary excellence and inspired spirit pairings taking center stage. The unforgettable dining experience features a vibrant multi-course tasting menu – curated for one-night-only by Lona’s Executive Chef Juan Carlos Peña.

This month’s Chef’s Pairing Dinner offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in an evening where tradition meets innovation through a Mexican culinary journey curated by Chef Peña, expertly paired with selections from the El Tequileño Tequila portfolio. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a specialty De Lujo welcome cocktail and amuse bouche bites including Plantain Air Cake with hibiscus and Morita Chile; and Tlacoyo made with corn masa, tomatillo, radish, cilantro, fava bean and queso fresco. The tasting menu for the evening will feature Tiradito Bandera prepared with tuna, citrus mix, guajillo, amaranth and cilantro, offered with Platinum Tequileño; Chile en Nogada made with beef, walnuts, poblano pepper and pomegranate, served with Reposado Gran Reserva Tequileño; and Lengua en Salsa, beef tongue supplemented with roasted salsa verde, corn tortilla, pickled vegetables, avocado leaf, beans and avocado, paired with Tequileño Añejo Gran Reserva. The culinary experience will conclude on a sweet note with a Peaches & Cream sponge cake with wafers and white chocolate, served with Tequileño Reposado Rare.
