Saturday Night at Coconut Grove Art Stroll: A Mix of Artists,
Art Demonstrations, Live Music, Dance Performances, Food & Beverage Sampling
Free event at Mayfair in the Grove Offers Activities for the Whole Family
The Coconut Grove Art Stroll is a free public art festival that brings together more than 40 local and international artists, musicians, dancers and food purveyors the First Saturday night of every month at the Promenade of the Shoppes at Mayfair in the Grove. The public can stroll through an eclectic exhibition of artists selling paintings, photos, crafts, and mixed media while listening to live music and enjoying free samplings of food and drinks sponsored by local restaurants and beverage companies.
The idea is to bring a cultural event to the streets and revive the groovy art shows and funky street life the Grove has been famous for in the past. A kids arts and crafts area is featured where they can draw and paint with Captain Art the local kids favorite art teacher. This month we will feature a Special Art Exhibit in loving Memory of a Great Artist, Pedro Amador who was a participant in the Coconut Grove Art Stroll for the past year.
Additionally, there will be Japanese and Polynesian dance performances by Etnia Fusion and the rock band “3 Sheets to the Wind†will play pop favorites. In addition The Antique Market, Grove House Gallery and Windish-Hunt Gallery will be open to make the Coconut Grove Art Stroll even better.
Some of the artists exhibiting works in the festival include Johnny Valdes, Proman Garcia, Arien Lopez, Javier Martinez, Juan Vilacoba, Santa Olaya, Jose Romero, Daisy Rodriguez, Arturo Palomino, Jessica Alvares, Sergio Cervante, James Chaux and German Molina. Pollo Tropical and Chili’s Restaurant at CocoWalk will offer free food sampling. Kilo Kai Rum, Alchemia Vodka, Don Eduardo Tequila, Presidente Imported Beer will also offer samples of their products.
“The Grove has been known as an Art Mecca and we want to invite people to a FREE event that provides a great night of entertainment and culture,†according to Johnny Valdes, Founder and Director of the Coconut Grove Art Stroll. We Invite you to come and be part of the reemergence of Coconut Grove as an artistic Mecca and the premier spot for cultural events.
