Village of Merrick Park welcomes the highly anticipated Fashionably Conscious vintage designer fundraising sale, celebrating its fifth anniversary, September 21 – 23. Bringing the event to a prime retail space on the ground floor of the Coral Gables mall, and with a fundraising goal of $100,000 (doubling that of last year), this year’s sale is set to be the most impressive yet.
The vintage designer sale offers heavily discounted pricing on donated designer items from the most coveted closets of Miami’s respected philanthropists and community leaders. This year’s expanded host committee of over 50 top socialites and CEOs includes Raysa Fanjul, Margarita Codina, Lourdes Jofre-Collett, Camille Thiry Russler, Mark Ferrari, Sarah Arison, Louis Aguirre, Darlene Perez, Laura Buccellati, Anne Owen, Alicia Cervera, Cathy Leff, Suzy Buckley, Maria Tettamanti, Ginger Harris, Annie Vasquez, Tony Cho, Rosa Sugrañes, Debra Scholl, Timothy Walker, Dr. Eduardo Padrón and more. Collections already include items from Prada, Armani, Christian Dior, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, ITEM, Catherine Malandrino, Diane vonFurstenberg, Trina Turk, Elie Tahari, Phillip Lim, Chloé and more.
The weekend event will kick off with a Friday VIP Preview Sale at a $25 entrance fee, granting first access to premier fashions and sips of bubbly, Delaplaine and Vita Coco in a space designed by KARLA Conceptual Event Experiences. Saturday has reduced pricing and entry at $10 admission, and Sunday serves as a final clearance sale with $5 entry fee.
Local bridal fashion expert and owner of Ever After Miami, Camille Thiry Russler, donated a couture bridal package featuring a Vera Wang dress, lace mantilla veil, and Oscar de la Renta satin pumps, valued at nearly $10,000. Other Raffle items include a stainless steel unisex Brera watch (a great groom gift for any bride to consider!) and more. Raffle tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the sale at Village of Merrick Park, located on the ground level.
All funds go directly to fund Coconut Grove Cares’ The Barnyard Community Center, offering free vital services to the children and families of the historic West Grove. Founded in 1948, Coconut Grove Cares’ The Barnyard Community Center acts as a safe haven for over 250 children in the community. As their primary yearly fundraiser, Fashionably Conscious offers essential unrestricted funds to support their summer camp and after-school programs.
