An Exotic Pop-Culture Infused Cabaret
The Pleasure Garden, a one of a kind entertainment experience, is arriving at the gateway to the Miami Design District on November 15. A contemporary throwback to the “pleasure gardens†of the 19th century, this hypnotic destination will fuse design, high-fashion, performance art, music and imaginative culinary creations. At the heart of The Pleasure Garden is ORCHID, a seductive experience which mixes song, dance, burlesque, aerial acrobatics and variety arts.
ORCHID opens in an enchanting garden populated with strange and erotic creatures such as Poison Ivy, Honeysuckle Rose, Lily and the Bee Keeper. Orchid, the perfect and beautiful creation of a reclusive and melancholic Master Gardener, searches for happiness through worlds that are intoxicated by her beauty, mystery and sensuality. The audience becomes immersed into a fantasy that ignites all of the senses.
Director William Baker, who has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, helms this exotic and unforgettable journey through Orchid’s Garden of Eden and through scenic representations of city nightlife, convents and swank gymnasiums. Propelled by imaginative mash ups from some of the greatest popular music artists of the day, the show blooms inside an intimate, antiqued “mirror-tentâ€- an elegant in-the-round performance space adorned with stained glass, red velvet and chandeliers. Part Moulin Rouge and part Cabaret, ORCHID is a spectacularly lush live entertainment experience that will indulge your senses, alter your reality and take you to unexpected places.
“We are delighted to debut ORCHID in the cultural epicenter of Miami’s Design District,†said Martin LaSalle, President of Pleasure Garden Entertainment. “We have brought together leading creative talent in the worlds of pop culture, theater and circus to give our audiences an unprecedented entertainment experience. We are excited to announce more details about the rest of The Pleasure Garden over the coming weeks.â€
