The Miami Marlins celebrate their 14th Annual Autism Awareness Day as they take on the Phillies on April 14th at Marlins Park. Some of the participating entities include Autism Speaks, Family Autism Network, The Autism Notebook Magazine, Faith’s Autism Outreach Center, The Victory Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and UM-NSU Card.
Fans can visit the West Plaza and enjoy the Pregame Autism Resource Fair as well as a pregame on-field ceremony recognizing outstanding service by volunteers from participating organizations. The national anthem will be performed by The Victory Center for Autism. A por-tion of the proceeds will benefit local Autism organizations.
The Marlins Foundation is committed to improving the lives of our youth through education, the arts and baseball, with a special focus on children with special needs. The Foundation has previously funded programs for autistic children and their families at Shake-a-Leg Miami, Villa Lyan and through the Marlins Ayudan School Partnership Program at Citrus Grove Elementary and Bent Tree Elementary schools. This year, the Marlins Foundation will be sponsoring the University of Miami’s Center for Autism & Related Disorders “Tropical Nights†gala.
The Autism Awareness seat special is $20 for Lexus Legends Level on the 3rd base side. A ‘Quiet Room’ is available and ADA seating will be available upon request.
