Written by Broward-resident Marvin David Levy, this contemporary American opera transplants a famous Greek tragedy to small New England town in 1865 where betrayal, murder, and incest take center stage. Originally commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera, this work is presented in an all new production by Florida Grand Opera featuring innovative light projections by a top Broadway design team and a stellar cast starring soprano Lauren Flanigan. Not seen on the operatic stage for nearly a decade, Mourning Becomes Electra is the hot ticket of the season. Sung in English with projected translations in English and Spanish.
