The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is pleased to present one of the most legendary Colombian bands GRUPO NICHE on March 22, 2024 at 8 p.m. as part of the Live at Knight series in the Center’s Knight Concert Hall.

After four decades, GRUPO NICHE has become one of the most legendary bands in Colombia with many accolades, including nominations for the 2017 Latin Billboard Award for Tropical Artist of the Year, the 2017 and 2021 Grammy for Best Tropical Album and 2020 Latin Grammy for Best Salsa Album. Referred to as the “Salsa Experience” for their up-tempo dance music and slower-paced romantic numbers, GRUPO NICHE will be performing a high-energy concert with major hits such as “Hagamos Lo Que Diga Corazón,” “Nuestro Sueño,” “Canoa Rancha” and “Cali Pachanguero.”

Founded in Colombia in 1979 by Jairo Varela and Alexis Lozano, GRUPO NICHE has enjoyed great popularity throughout Latin America and the United States. They have become one of the most important players in the world of salsa music. GRUPO NICHE found its first success in 1981 with the album Querer es Poder and its single “Buenaventura y Caney.” The group relocated in 1982 to Cali, Colombia, where it has remained. In 1984, they released the hit single “Cali Pachanguero,” a tribute to the “world salsa capital.”
