Orchestra Miami presents Little Red Riding, an opera by Seymour Barab
Introduce your kids to the fun of opera as Orchestra Miami proudly presents Little Red Riding Hood, an opera by Seymour Barab. Everyone’s favorite fairy tale will be sung by three professional opera singers in this charming, fully staged production. Soprano Samantha Riling-Lopez stars as Little Red Riding Hood, with baritone Lovell Rose as the Wolf/the Lumberjack and Erika Vasallo as Mother/Grandma. The opera is fully staged by award-winning director Ricky J. Martinez and accompanied by Orchestra Miami’s Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi at the piano. Full of laughter and surprises, this entertaining opera reminds kids of one of childhood’s most important lessons- don’t talk to strangers!
The show is on Sunday, March 17th, at 3 PM at Pinecrest Gardens (11000 SW 57 Avenue, Pinecrest, 33156 – free onsite parking). Tickets are $8 for kids (ages 3-17), $12 for seniors (65 & up), and $15 for adults and a Family Pack (2 kids + 2 adults) is available for $39. The performance lasts 1 hour and is appropriate for children ages 3 and up. Complimentary cookies and juice will be served after the show! This performance is a part of Orchestra Miami’s Family Fun Concert Series at Pinecrest Gardens. The final Family Fun Concert in the series – The King, the Cat & the Fiddle and other stories with Strings – will be on Sunday, April 7th at 3 PM.
