MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT TO PARTICIPATE IN FASHION’S NIGHT OUT
Retailers including Marimekko, Marni, and Y-3 are among participants in global fashion event to be held on September 10, 2010.
The Miami Design District announced today that it will participate in Fashion’s Night Out on September 10, 2010. In conjunction with cities around the world, retailers across the Miami Design District will come together to offer limited-time-only in-store promotions, live entertainment, and special events. Fashion’s Night Out is an unprecedented global initiative started last year by American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York.
Vogue Latin America is a key collaborator and sponsor of Fashion’s Night Out in the Miami Design District. Vogue Latin America’s Editor-in-Chief Eva Hughes, along with fashion and beauty editors from the publication will all be on hand throughout the Miami Design District for this very special evening.
In addition, Maybelline®, FNO’s national sponsor, has chosen the Miami Design District as the location for one of its three Color Studios. These pop-up studios will feature four makeup stations with artists on hand to offer guests styling tips and makeovers and to talk about seasonal trends and the latest Maybelline products. Other Color Studios will be set up in New York City and Chicago.
Fashion’s Night Out in The Miami Design District will also be home to a temporary stage with live musical performances in Oak Plaza starting at 9 PM.
Participating Miami Design District retailers for Fashion’s Night Out include Anya Ponorovskaya, Duncan Quinn, En Avance, FriendsWithYou, Genius Jones, I on the District, Kiliwatch Miami, Maison Martin Margiela, Marimekko, Marni, Nektar de Stagni, Sebastian James, Tomas Maier, Turchin Love & Light Collection, and Y-3. Additional participants are expected to be announced leading up to September 10.
In-store presentations during Fashion’s Night Out will include a showcase of the summer collection from Marni and the company’s collaboration with French artist Claude Caillol, who created a series of striking images for a special line of Marni t-shirts and vinyl bags. In addition, En Avance will present its fall collection from designer Mirco Giovannini and Anya Ponorovskaya will launch an extremely limited line of dresses and sweater wraps made from the knitwear world’s most luxurious material, Qiviuk. Design District restaurants including Fratelli Lyon, Maitardi, Q American Barbeque, and Sra. Martinez, will also team up with retailers to provide catering for the evening’s events. Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) is an unprecedented global initiative created to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry’s economy. In the United States, the program is a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York.
