On Friday evening, October 15, from 6-10 P.M. Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery will present works of “uncommon†beauty. Terms such as “mixed mediaâ€, “abstractâ€, and “steampunk†all describe the array of unique “outside the norm†creations that will be on display. The event will take place on Friday, October 15 from 6-9 PM. The exhibition continues through October 27th.
Artists express their creativity in countless ways. The current wave of “alternative†art sweeping the arts community is well represented by several artists within CGMS Gallery including Betty Wilson, Linda and Kelly Dean Manganaro, Victoria Rose Martin, Amelia Costa and Karen McGovern. We will be introducing new Gallery member Lauren Shaprio, a fantastic sculptor whose works explore the oddities dreamscapes of her imagination. These artists express themselves through truly unusual glass work, sculpture, mixed media, and mixed metal jewelry designs. This exhibition explores these artist’s vision, celebrates the absurd, and embraces all that is uncommonly beautiful. Special guest Georgette Pressler, of Devious Body Art, will be using the human body as canvas, painting live in the Gallery.
A wine and cheese tasting takes place at every opening. Clay Glass Metal Stone Cooperative Gallery is sponsored by the Flamingo Clay Studio, a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to provide affordable studio and gallery space for three-dimensional artists. The gallery is located at 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. Gallery openings are the first and third Friday of each month from 6-9PM. For information call 215-205-9441, or 561-588-8344.
