In celebration of Tri-Rail’s new schedule with hourly train service on weekends and holidays, South Florida residents and visitors are encouraged to get onboard the train as part of a special Ride and Play Day on Saturday, May 18. Tri-Rail riders can show their validated train fare at local attractions, including Bayside Marketplace (Miami), Vizcaya Museum & Gardens (Miami), Museum of Discovery & Science (Fort Lauderdale), CityPlace (West Palm Beach) or International Game Fish Association (Dania Beach) to enjoy discounts and special offers on this day only.

As part of Ride and Play Day, riders will have the chance to meet some of their favorite radio personalities from WLYF 101.5 LITE-FM, Hot 105, Amor 107.5 and 97.9 FM WRMF, as they ride Tri-Rail to some of South Florida’s best attractions. Plus, Pollo Tropical will be on-site at select train stations, offering complimentary samples.

Tri-Rail commuters and leisure riders are now able to catch a train from 17 conveniently located stations every hour on weekend and holidays. Tri-Rail recently expanded its weekend service to include 30 trains-a-day, compared to 16 trains-a-day in the past. Train service is available every day of the year with bus and Metrorail connections. Tri-Rail’s weekend fares are just $5 roundtrip and children under the age of 5 ride free. Kids ages 5 to 12 can enjoy a 50% discount.
Southbound trains depart from of the Mangonia Park Station at 5:50 a.m. and northbound trains start from the Hialeah Market Station at 5:20 a.m. The new schedule provides for later night service, with the last southbound train departing Mangonia Park at 9:00 p.m. and the last northbound train departing Hialeah Market at 9:45 p.m.
