Solé On The Ocean is one of the newest oceanfront properties to open in Sunny Isles Beach. The highly anticipated condo-tel is launching their poolside happy hour and pool party series overlooking the Atlantic beginning Friday, April 17.

Solé On The Ocean, along with some of Miami’s top promoters, is hosting “ALBA,” their weekly sunset happy hour on Fridays from 4:00-7:00 p.m. where guests will enjoy two-for-one cocktails to toast the end of the week. Saturdays and Sundays are for basking in the sun on Solé’s beautiful pool deck literally steps away from the sandy beach. Live beats will be provided by DJ Baby Dré and a summer “lunch box” menu featuring club sandwiches, vegetable and fruit platters, healthy wraps and an assortment of chips options courtesy of neighboring gourmet staple, Epicure Market make the perfect afternoon. Something new has been added at the Biltmore’s Boules Bar! Every Tuesday the Biltmore will be hosting Petanque tournaments, a game enjoyed by several million people in France. It’s a form of boules where the goal is to throw metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a cochonnet (jack). Perhaps best done with a sparkling glass of champagne in one hand. The competition is lighthearted – for beginners and experts alike – with the emphasis on fun and socializing. Specialty cocktails will be available at half price. Jim Couper will discuss the experiences as the founding director of the Visual Arts Gallery at FIU, now known as The Frost Art Museum. He will also explain his role as curator of Luisa Basnuevo’s show. Luisa Basnuevo will discuss her current exhibition Simulacra and Essence. The event will also include a conversation with artist Florencio Gelabert regarding his exhibition Intersections.

The evening will include guided tours of the current exhibitions and live music by indie-rock band, Bear Nine.

Join us for our monthly series (first Thursdays) of classic cocktails in grand architectural spaces. We meet each month at a different location for great conversation, fun drinks, and a brief history of the space.
At the height of his creative prowess, the artist Earl LaPan was represented by murals in the lobbies of many hotels in the Art Deco District. Sadly, only a handful remain, but the Essex House lobby features one of the best. Come join us to drink a toast to Mr. LaPan’s artistry in this 1938 corner classic by Henry Hohauser.
