Wynwood will see the streets come alive for the fourth annual Wynwood Life! It is held in Miami’s Art and Cultural District and is a true celebration of all things we love about South Florida – Food, Art, Music and Fashion! Twenty thousand people will fill the streets perusing art, crafts, jewelry and over 100 vendors all while being entertained by live art and music and noshing on local fare from over 40 food trucks!

WynwoodMap.com and The RAW Project will curate the Live Art Stage featuring a wide variety of street artists from around the World. The festival encourages students and emerging artists to take part in the “Emerging Artist Competition”. Wynwood Life is proud to have the Miami Art & Design Education Institute (M.A.D.E.) as the presenting sponsor, because M.A.D.E is known for elevating people’s art and design career to the next level by way of their industry-driven approach to education, through coaching, mentoring, and networking in the heart of Miami’s Art District. In addition, WYN 317 Gallery will be the gallery partner as well as being on the selection committee.

Over 20 bands and DJs will occupy the Live Music Stage featuring local favorites and hometown bands gone big such as Otto Von Schirach, Tamboka, Jeano Music, Hoy Palloy, Zander and many more.

The Style Lounge will offer free services including nail polish changes, a braid station and Henna. The Spot Barbershop will have a pop up for the men, and stylists will showcase multiple fashion shows by local boutiques, fashion bloggers including iShine365, Dyme Lyfe, graciouslylovedllc, Koko and Palenki, to name a few.

The Wynwood Culinary Showcase will feature top restaurants and chefs from the area providing teachable moments such as Chef Cesar Zapata from Phuc yea, who will teach us how to cook a whole fish. This year, the stage will also invite South Florida chefs outside of Wynwood who are taking the culinary scene to a higher level. Scheduled to make demos are Max Santiago, Bunnie Cakes, Crave Clean, Copper 29, and more. The Bitter Truth will have a pop up where they’ll carve the ice for each cocktail with a chainsaw, and they will also compete against Employees Only to come up with the “Best Cocktail” at Wynwood Life.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run, a three circuit 5K (3.1 mile) Run Walk, will once again wind its way through the streets of Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Known as “Florida’s Largest Office Party”, the run is open to employees of businesses, corporations, government agencies, financial institutions and non-profits – regardless of company size – and incorporates a special competition to award the overall men’s, women’s and co-ed teams in 20 different industries. Beginners can “ease into exercise” with friends, gain inspiration and motivation to continue walking and running to improve overall health, while competitive runners have the opportunity to shine amongst their co-workers and lead the corporate team to victory.

As part of the tri-county race circuit, a portion of the proceeds from the Fort Lauderdale run will benefit United Way.

Building CommUnity Party will Celebrate Growth of Supportive Space for Local Nonprofits!

Community residents along with local leaders across greater Miami are invited to come together for a celebratory evening at the Center for Social Change. The party is taking place on the brand new 5th floor, which is part of our Center’s expansion that has more than doubled the original co-working and event space capacity for South Florida nonprofits and social entrepreneurs. While Building CommUnity is technically free to attend, we are also fundraising for the development of a 1,500 sq. ft. outdoor patio with gorgeous, expansive views of surrounding neighborhoods. This 5th floor patio will provide a new venue for various community events, and if funds are raised in time, the goal is to open it Spring 2017. There’s a suggested “CommUnity Builder” donation of $25.00, and we’ll be engraving donor names on the patio’s railing when it’s completed.

About the Center for Social Change – Founded in Summer 2014, we house one of South Florida’s first coworking spaces and community environment for mission-driven leaders and organizations including nonprofits and social entrepreneurs. The second Halloween Edition of Bay Skate Miami is just around the corner coming up on Saturday, October 29th at Bayfront Park. The Marker Waterfront Resort located in the southernmost city of Key West will be hosting its first ever pin-up girl contest, in partnership with M.I.A. Beer Company and Southernmost Tattoo. Guests and locals can enter to strut their best 1950’s-inspired looks on Saturday, October 1 at the Old Town Key West property.

Judges for the contest will be picked at random from a $5 raffle. First, second and third place pin-up girls will receive a prize pack including gift certificates to Southernmost Tattoo, local Key West vintage clothing stores and other prizes to make their pin-up girl dreams come to life.

The contest will take place at the Marker Resort’s poolside area starting at 5 p.m. M.I.A. Beer Company will host a tap takeover for the event featuring some of their fan favorite brews including Miami Weiss, Tourist Trappe, Snowbird and Moo over Miami.

As an ode to Miami’s Cuban culture, the Marker will also be hosting a pig roast during the contest, complete with mojo-style roast pork with rice and beans for $15 per plate. To compliment the dishes, specialty cocktails featuring the M.I.A. brews will be available for $10.

The Marker will donate a portion of its event sales to the family fund for Piero Rodriguez – the late founder of M.I.A. Beer Company. Additionally, proceeds from the raffle will go to Sister Season, a Key West non for profit that provides help to those tourism-related industries who experience economic hardships.

The show featured swimwear by Kay & Elle, OMG Miami and a special presentation by Roberto Cavalli.

Musical entertainment was provided by reggaeton singer Vikina Lopez and a special performance by Kent Jones who brought down the house with his #1 hit “Don’t Mind”.

Each Monday, beginning on July 4th, STK will be partnering with local Miami swimwear brands to create pop-up shops in the vibe-driven steakhouse. The first pop-up shop will be in partnership with OMG MIAMI SWIMWEAR, a sexy, yet trendy swimwear line with a recently opened store in Miami Beach. Expect other local favorite brands throughout the month like Hera Swim, Lila Nikole Collection, and Naunet. The pop-ups will be available for browsing and shopping from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Light bites and select cocktails will be served to guests that RSVP. This July 16, Miami will bleed yellow, blue and red to celebrate Colombia’s Independence Day with well-known artists Jorge Celedón, El Grupo Niche and Reykon. The all-day MegaRumba Colombia will bring Colombians together in Miami to celebrate their heritage. At noon on Sunday, April 17, 2016, Heart Harbor Rescue, a safe haven facility that aims to house, rehabilitate, and adopt out abandoned and abused animals, is hosting the main event of their March Madness Fun Run for Vets and Pets at America’s Backyard in Fort Lauderdale. Established as an anti-cruelty, anti-bullying not-for-profit, Heart Harbor Rescue partners with other rescue groups to provide seminars that allow children and adults the opportunity to interact with rescue animals in a way that fosters warmth and compassion.
Attendees will enjoy a day of live music, food vendors, craft artisans, silent auctions, and raffles. Tickets are $10 for entry; Poker Play is an additional $10 per hand, with prizes of upwards of $300 up for grabs. Beer and drink specials will be on offer. Seven bands are scheduled to perform including Big Whiskey & the Opium Kings, SOULICIDE, Spank the Band, Too Hot, Hired Gunz, CRuSH, and JADED, South Florida’s most popular Aerosmith tribute band.
The event will be marked by an all-day adoption special in which rescue animals from Animal Aid, Beyond Nine Cat Rescue, and Little Paws of Love will be available for adoption.
All proceeds benefit Paws for Veterans, Animal Aid Inc, and Beyond Nine Cat Rescue, as well as Heart Harbor Rescue’s mission to purchase a new facility, train a rescue dog for a PTSD Veteran, and aid in the cost of rescuing and rehabilitating animals.

With his A-list celebrity chums, astronomical bank balance and palatial homes in Miami, Ibiza and soon Los Angeles, few people epitomize the ‘superstar DJ’ like Erick Morillo. The organizers of the IMS music conference in Ibiza certainly thought so, inviting Erick to give a talk entitled ‘Big Dog DJs: Fuck You I’m Famous’ earlier this year.
“People definitely know my name, but I’ve worked hard to get here,” Erick says. “It’s not like I think people should bow before me because I’m some big star.”
Although, with his Subliminal Sessions nights at Pacha having enjoyed their 13th year (making Morillo the White Isle’s longest-serving resident DJ in 2010) Ibiza is already conquered. With a resurgent Subliminal Records churning out floor fillers by the month, two new albums – one solo and one with Jose Nunez and Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero as The Dronez – in production and a live show in the works, Morillo is now redoubling his campaign to take America. The next shot in which will be DJing at the opening of the exclusive Marquee club in the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve, appearing alongside Jay-Z and Coldplay.
