The 27th Annual AIDS Walk Miami is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk-a-thon fundraiser benefiting Care Resource and Food for Life Network Food Bank. Dragons will once again invade the City of Miami’s waters as the Miami International Dragon Boat Festival returns to the Miami Rowing Club on Virginia Key. This event is a great opportunity for groups to come together and participate in a fun-filled day of competitive racing.

Often dubbed as a “canoe on steroids”, dragon boats are 42’ in length and don a traditional dragon head and tail. Dating back more than 2,000 years, this ancient Chinese pastime has captured the attention of the competitive sporting world, making it the second fastest growing water sport.

The festival is currently seeking participants! No experience or gear necessary- just grab twenty (20) friends or coworkers, a paddle and go!

Teams for the Miami International Dragon Boat Festival can be formed by companies, bringing employees together for a day of fun competition and team building. Other teams can come from educational institutions, civic and community organizations, gyms, families and friends etc. This event is open to participants of all sizes and abilities, ages 13 and up. Prior experience is not necessary, practice sessions and equipment will be provided to registered teams. Dragon boat racing supports camaraderie, fitness, competition and a lesson on the ultimate goal of reaching the finish line together!

Ever wanted the opportunity to play football in Europe? Well on December 6th, Rise Above Training, former Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver Chris Chambers and the 2014 New Yorker Lions bring you the first ever Annual European Football Tryouts and your chance to grab the opportunity you’ve always wanted.

This camp is for men looking for their chance to play football overseas and develop themselves as both individuals and players. EF Tryouts will test players in a combine setting while simultaneously helping them develop their game by teaming up with former NFL Pro Chris Chambers and his staff of quality coaches.

European Football rules allow 2 American passport players also known as import players on the field each play, yet teams can have an unlimited amount of import players on their roster. In order to fill the roster with the best available import players, teams are trying to connect to coaches and former players in the US but have found it to be difficult. With little available knowledge being made about players who are brought in from abroad and being overseas, the ability to be linked to quality players is not always easy. EF Tryouts aim to build the bridge that will connect US players to European coaches because they believe that every player deserves an opportunity to reach their goals and achieve the dream at playing football at the highest level possible.

Testing will consist of Combine Drills, which includes 40 yard dash, 15 yard Shuttle Run, Broad Jump, Vertical Jump and Med Ball Toss, alongside Strength Drills, Individual Drills, 1 on 1’s and 7 on 7’s. Participants will be able to showcase their skills while scouts from The New Yorker Lions, Oldenburg Knights, Falcons Cologne, Galaxy Frankfurt and Helsinki Roosters look for fresh talent to add to their growing teams.

As part of the camp, all sessions during the try out will be filmed and players will be able to send in their tapes to qualify for the “Hotlist” which will be forwarded to all teams in Europe. Those who make the list will be given assistance in actively promoting their skills to all European teams to help them achieve the next step.

Fixed-gear riders from across the South will take their talent to the track in a test of mental stamina, technical precision and raw strength at Red Bull Mini Drome in Miami on November 8. From its original debut in New Zealand and its roots across the pond, Red Bull Mini Drome will come back for another lap in the states with a stop at Mana Wynwood—a prominent hub for innovation in the Wynwood Arts District.

For starters, a fixed-gear (more affectionately known as a fixie) is a bicycle in its purest, simplest form– no gears and sometimes no brakes. Often considered the ultimate marriage between man and machine, a sub-twenty-pound piece of machinery is the only thing separating your body from the hard, unforgiving ground below.

At Red Bull Mini Drome, skill, speed, balance, and braves are brought together on this steep, shrunken down version of the traditional velodrome. With track speeds exceeding 30mph and course measurements of 46 ft. x 24 ft. and 8 ft. high at the end banking, it is sure to be one of the most challenging and treacherous thrill rides to hit the fixed-gear scene. Competitors will need to pedal hard and watch the ledge if they want to take home the winning title.

Dragons will once again invade the City of Miami’s waters on Saturday, November 8th as the Miami International Dragon Boat Festival returns to the Miami Rowing Club on Virginia Key. This event is a great opportunity for groups to come together and participate in a fun-filled day of competitive racing, which will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Often dubbed as a “canoe on steroids”, dragon boats are 42’ in length and don a traditional dragon head and tail. Dating back more than 2,000 years, this ancient Chinese pastime has captured the attention of the competitive sporting world, making it the second fastest growing water sport.

The festival is currently seeking participants! No experience or gear necessary- just grab twenty (20) friends or coworkers, a paddle and go!

Teams for the Miami International Dragon Boat Festival can be formed by companies, bringing employees together for a day of fun competition and team building. The Miami Marlins begin a six-game homestand on Monday, September 1, with a three-game series against the New York Mets. Following an off-day on Thursday, the Marlins will host the Atlanta Braves for a three-game weekend series.

There will be two in-game check presentations taking place during this homestand; the first taking place on Friday, when the Miracle League will receive a check for $200,000 from the Marlins and the State of Florida. The Marlins and State of Florida joined efforts to raise funds to build a new field for the Miracle League. Then on Saturday, RHP Jose Fernandez will present a check to Raymond Rodriguez-Torres and the “Live Like Bella” Foundation as part of Star Wars Night and “Stand Up To Cancer.”

The Marlins will celebrate Star Wars Night, presented by LucasFilm and benefitting “Stand Up To Cancer,” on Saturday. Characters from LucasFilm’s Star Wars series will be available for pregame photos in the Star Wars sections (Section 225 – 228) and will be doing in-game stunts with Billy The Marlin. Fans who purchase the special ticket package will receive a limited edition Jedi Billy Bobblehead, available while supplies last. The upcoming homestand also features ALS Day. On Sunday, the Marlins Foundation and the ALS Recovery Fund will partner to host ALS Day at Marlins Park. The Marlins will present a check of their annual contribution to the ALS Recovery Fund during pregame ceremonies, also playing Lou Gehrig’s “Luckiest Man” Speech prior to the game.

Inter Academy Florida is the first youth soccer academy in the USA affiliated with F.C. Internazionale (widely known as Inter Milan) and is led by Riccardo Ferri, a former Inter and Italian National Team player himself. This project aims at developing kids’ soccer talents and forming them into great players by employing the training philosophy and methodology used by both F.C. Inter adult and youth teams. Inter Academy Florida is geared towards boys and girls 4-17 and offers three different program options: Camp, Academy, and Recreational. The summer camp program officially begins on June 9th and will run through August 1st in 1-week sessions; it is currently open for enrollment online and will also be accepting registrations during open house event. For optimal convenience, camp program will be offering day and evening sessions at four different locations, two in Miami-Dade County and two in Broward County. Young soccer lovers will not want to pass the opportunity to join this world-class academy.

The uniqueness of Inter Academy Florida lies in the direct access members will have to training resources of the professional soccer team abroad, and having a former pro soccer player fronting the entire program. These dynamics will allow participants to get first-hand game strategy, coaching and structured talent development, in order to improve their game in a fun and safe environment. Inter Academy Florida has three programs for kids 4-17: Camp (summer season June 9 – August 1, 2014; camps also available during winter and spring in 1-week sessions), Elite Academy (tryouts for 2014-2015 competitive season are May 27 – June 1, 2014 and training will start in August), and Recreational (available during fall and spring in 9-week sessions). Also available, private lessons with Riccardo Ferri, scouting days with college and professional coaches, and Inter Academy Florida Cares (free games for kids with disabilities).

Gente de Zona (slang term for “people from the neighborhood”) is a Cuban reggaeton (cubaton) group founded by Alexander Delgado in 2000. The group combines this rhythm with more traditional forms of Cuban music in order to attract younger fans. Their album “Lo Mejor Que Suena Ahora Vol. 2,” featured hits like “Le Gustan los Artistas” and “Los Animales” that brought them global acclaim in Europe and the U.S. In March of 2013, Gente De Zona announced the departure of Jacob Forever from the group and the addition of Randy Malcom, ex-lead singer of la Charanga Habanera. Gente de Zona has recently performed in the past year at the Latin Billboard Awards, Latin Grammy Street Parties, and Nuestra Belleza Latina on Univision. The group is currently featured on the mega-hit, “Bailando” by Enrique Iglesias with Descemer Bueno, which has been #1 on the Latin Billboards Charts for the last two weeks.

During the summer, following the Marlins’ Saturday, 4:10 p.m. games in May and June, the team will offer complimentary postgame concert performances from acclaimed recording artists (Gente de Zona, B.o.B, Boyz II Men and Chino y Nacho) at the West Plaza of Marlins Park. Elementary and Middle Schools across Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties

The Marlins Think Tank is an online curriculum-enhancement program that utilizes the Miami Marlins as the basis for learning. Marlins Think Tank aims to enrich the learning experiences of children in grades 4-6 by linking baseball to the curriculum areas of writing, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, and health & fitness. The program provides lesson plans which meet Common Core State Standards as adopted by the Florida Department of Education, with the Miami Marlins as the lesson theme.

All 4th-6th grade classrooms in South Florida are eligible to receive a visit from Miami Marlins players, coaches and broadcasters during Marlins Think Tank Week. To participate in the contest, classrooms complete a lesson plan and submit it to the Miami Marlins. This year, 16 classrooms were selected at random as winners of the contest. During Think Tank Week, the entire 25-man roster canvases elementary and middle schools across South Florida.

Marlins Ayudan (Spanish for “help”) is the signature outreach initiative of the Miami Marlins. The purpose of Marlins Ayudan is to provide a sustainable corps of volunteers willing and ready to effectuate positive change in the South Florida community. It is the fabric of the Club’s corporate culture and engages every front office employee with schools and charities throughout South Florida. The goal of Marlins Ayudan is to leave a lasting legacy through impactful service activities that tackle the community’s most pressing needs. The three-tier Ayudan methodology consists of organizational service days, team events and individual volunteer opportunities. Since its inception in 2010, Marlins Ayudan has contributed over 22,000 hours of service and established partnerships and traditions of giving that inspire employees to pursue their passions and contribute their time and talents year-round.

The La Martina Miami Beach Polo World Cup X – a three-day men’s tournament celebrating its tenth year, starts on Friday, April 25th through Sunday, April 27th. The Miami Marlins announced today their promotions schedule for the 2014 regular season. Sean Flynn, Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Event Booking made the announcement. This year’s promotions schedule features 15 fan giveaways as well as an unprecedented selection of special value ticket offers for fans, available for every day of the week.

On Monday home games in 2014 (including Opening Night on March 31), the popular All You Can Eat Seats return for just $22 in the Home Run Porch or $32 in the Lexus Legends Level. The Miami Marlins today announced the creation of the “Jose’s Heroes” fan zone in recognition of the 2013 NL Rookie of the Year, Jose Fernandez. The exciting, new and energetic fan zone will be located in the left field Bullpen Reserved, sections 29-32. Fans can purchase a Jose’s Heroes full season ticket package (all 81 home games, including Opening Night) for just $499 per seat.

Rules and Regulations
1. Due to time and court restrictions, teams will forfeit a match by failing to appear in the designated court within 15 minutes after the end of the preceding match.
2. Warm-up practice is allowed only before match and shall not exceed 10 minutes.
3. Sum of ages of both players must be at least 70
4. One team player must be a member of the BACCF in good standing or a resident of the Ocean Club
5. First round losers will automatically play in the SILVER CUP tournament.
6. Players must consult the tournament organization at all times, concerning the scheduling of the matches.
7. The BACCF OPEN and BACCF SILVER CUP finals will be played best two out of three sets, regular scoring. A 12-point tiebreaker to be played at six games all.
8. No current or past teaching pros, touring pros, ranked junior players, college and tennis players ranked above 4.5 in the NTRP rating categories will be allowed to play in the tournament. The Organization reserves the right to disqualify any player(s) who belong to any of these categories and have registered to play or have already started to play, during the course of the tournament.
9. In case of a rain delay, match will continue the next day. Sides and the score play must resume exactly where it was stopped.
10. No activated beepers or cellular phones will be allowed in court.
11. The tournament will provide tennis balls, which must be left in the court after the match is finished. The Tournament will not provide referees or linesman.
12. All other USTA rules will apply. All decisions made by the Organizational Committee are final.

World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship announces Carolina Herrera Fashion Show Hosted by Ivanka Trump, live concert performance by Gym Class Heroes’ front man and solo star Travie McCoy.

World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship officials announced today new fan  enhancements to the 2014 tournament that will include a Carolina Herrera fashion show hosted by Ivanka Trump and a live concert performance by Gym Class Heroes’ front man and solo star, Travie McCoy.  Building on the momentum of the 2013 tournament that included its first-ever fashion show and concert, the 2014 Cadillac Championship, taking place March 5-9 at Trump National Doral in Miami, promises to deliver a heightened level of fan engagement that merges the worlds of golf, fashion, music and entertainment to create one of South Florida’s premiere social events.
 
This year’s Cadillac Championship will be highlighted by a March 7 runway presentation of the Carolina Herrera Spring 2014 collection, hosted by Ivanka Trump. Following the completion of the tournament’s second round, tournament ticketholders will be invited to move to the outdoor Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster Village venue, adjacent to the first tee and the Cadillac Performance center, for the fashion show.
 
On Saturday, March 8, Travie McCoy will headline a concert, also set to take place at the Blue Monster Village, following the completion of the tournament’s third round. As a solo artist, McCoy caused a multi-format commotion with his debut album, LAZARUS, and its lead single – the twice RIAA platinum, top five smash hit, Billionaire (featuring Bruno Mars) -  selling more than 3.4 million copies to date and recording nearly 150 million official YouTube views. Most recently, McCoy released Rough Water (featuring Jason Mraz), the first single from his new solo album scheduled for release this summer. McCoy’s success follows that of Gym Class Heroes, the band that rocketed to global stardom in 2007 with the #1 hit, Cupid’s Chokehold/Breakfast In America, and whose most recent album – 2011’s The Papercut Chronicles II – scored a trio of chart topping singles including the #1 multiplatinum smash Stereo Hearts (featuring Adam Levine).

Marlins Ayudan has teamed up with Special Olympics to host a softball clinic in preparation for their state competition. The event will be held at Gulliver Preparatory School (6575 N Kendall Drive) on Monday, November 4th from 10 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. This is the 4th year Marlins Ayudan, Special Olympics and Gulliver Preparatory School have partnered together in hosting the Softball Clinic.

The athletes participating will represent G. Holmes Braddock, Southridge Sr. High School, City of Miami, Our Pride Academy and the City of Doral. All five delegations represent the teams who will advance to the state competitions on November 15 – 17 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

The clinics will be divided into skills stations which include, fielding, throwing and hitting. Skills stations will be led by members from Marlins Ayudan team Pulse as well as Juniors and Seniors from Gulliver’s Varsity Baseball and Softball teams.

On Thursday, October 24th the Miami Marlins front office, composed of more than 160 members, will take over Citrus Grove Middle School (located at 2153 Northwest 3rd Street, Miami, FL) for the Annual Marlins Ayudan Day of Service and Philanthropy.

Activities will include a beautification project with City Year Miami, complementary eye screenings offered to the entire student body by Florida Heiken Children’s Vision Program, a division of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, team mentoring sessions with Marlins Staff and guest speakers from the school board, Marlins front office and Citrus Grove alumni.

Along with the Marlins front office, third baseman Ed Lucas will join the group for the day of service. Marlins staff is set to arrive at 9:20 A.M. and event will begin promptly at 9:30 A.M. with special guest speakers. The day of service will conclude at 3:30 P.M. Loews Miami Beach Hotel will host its 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament, benefiting DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that connects donors to Miami Dade County classrooms in need. Additionally, the tournament benefits The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, a Miami-Dade County School Board program created to enhance student achievement and community engagement. The tournament has received celebrity and influencer endorsements from the likes of Alonzo Mourning, Ken Griffey, Jr., Jay Harris, Jason Taylor, Bucky Dent and Mark Duper and many more throughout the years.

“Our annual celebrity golf tournament raises significant amounts of dollars that go directly to many desperately needed educational programs in our county through Donorschoose.org and The Foundation for New Education Initiatives,” said Alex Tonarelli, Managing Director, Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

Public school teachers spent $1.6 billion of their own money on classroom supplies and gear in the 2012-2013 school year, according to a report released in June 2013 by the National School Supply and Equipment Association (NSSEA), a trade association for educational product companies.

“We hope to exceed our contributions this year, which funds as many Miami Dade County educational projects as possible, and relieves the burden from our educators who spend thousands out of pocket on school supplies and instructional materials,” added Tonarelli.

In 2010, Loews Hotels celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Good Neighbor program by partnering with DonorsChoose.org in an effort to improve public education. Over the three years, Loews’ team members have raised funds by organizing car washes, bake sales, golf tournaments and making individual donations to support education in their local communities. The culmination of year round fundraising for Loews Miami Beach is the group-based 18-hole, scramble format tournament, held at the Miami Beach Golf Club. Since 2010, the tournament has raised nearly $150,000 in resources for classrooms and students across Miami Dade County.

“We are thrilled to participate, for the second year, in the Loews Miami Beach Celebrity Golf Tournament,” said Alberto M. Carvalho, Superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and the Chair for The Foundation for New Education Initiatives. “It is through philanthropic donors, like the Loews Miami Beach Hotel that we are able to give back to the local schools in our area and fund innovations beyond the basics that will keep our schools, our graduates, and our community competitive in the decades ahead.”

Registration is now open for the seventh annual FedEx Waterford 5K in Miami! Set to wind its way through Waterford at Blue Lagoon Office Park on Fri., Nov. 8, at 6:45 p.m., the run/walk, which is produced by Taylor & Mathis and TeamFootWorks, will benefit the children and families at Miami Children’s Hospital and will feature a post race glow-themed party, South Florida’s favorite food trucks, top prizes, a kid’s play zone, giveaways and more.

This past weekend we had the privilege of attending an awesome competition that involved, twerking, swimsuits, beer pong, liquor and laughter otherwise referred to as just another day at The Clevelander at Marlins Park. We were asked to judge the Pool Boy and Pool Girl Competition and had an absolute blast. The Clevelander opened up a location at the Marlins Stadium, where fans can eat awesome food, drink, swim in the pool and get up close and personal with the sexy Marlin Energy Team. On any given day, you will experience in professional body painting, a kickass DJ and… oh ya,  a baseball game too. ;-)  The hopeful Pool Boys and Girls had to compete in aquatic baseball fetch, beer pong, interviews and a dance contest to win the crowns.  Allison and Corey pictured below in their victor robes earned the coveted titles. We loved this spot and will definitely be back to participate in more fun shenanigans.

Marlins raise awareness for the National Blood Clot Alliance hosting their inaugural awareness event at Marlins park on Sunday, July 28th as the Marlins take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Blood clots cause an average of sixteen deaths a day in Florida, but can be prevented simply by knowing the risks, signs and symptoms. Special ticket offer purchased by groups of 20+ have the opportunity to have a special volunteer or survivor recognized on the field prior to the game. World-class Athletes go Head-to-Head in the Most Intense Fitness Competition in Town

The Crush Games (formerly Summer Crush Games) the south east region’s largest fitness competition, returns to South Florida for a three day long event. The BB&T Center is the preeminent sports and entertainment venue in Florida, and among the best in the world, with more than two million customers entering its doors each year. Host to more than 200 events annually including Florida Panthers hockey, the BB&T Center annually ranks among the top 10 venues in the United States.

This year’s Crush Games will gather over 1,020 of the nation’s top athletes in a three-day-long battle, testing their physical and mental toughness. A growing phenomenon, CrossFit has seen an enormous increase throughout the world, but specifically in South Florida, with athletes who are anxious and ready to take their strength and endurance to the next level. CrossFit enthusiasts travel across the nation stemming from the West Coast of California to Texas & Georgia, to compete against elite athletes.

“This year’s Crush Games is primed to be the biggest event to hit South Florida’s fitness community. Now in its third year, the Crush Games have tripled in size, bringing our athletes a diverse competition, with challenging events meant to test their mental and physical capabilities,” said Mike Osuna, Crush Games founder, and owner of the I am Crossfit Family, which includes five CrossFit locations throughout South Florida including I Am Crossit in Doral, CrossFit South Miami, Coconut Grove CrossFit, CrossFit Vida Brickell and CrossFit Gables.

Renowned CrossFit competitors such as Brandon Phillips, Irving Hernandez, Kenneth Leverich, Noah Olsen, Cheryl Nasso and Lauren Brooks, and Andrea Ager are among the well-known CrossFit “elite” that will be participating in this year’s Crush Games.

Spectators can expect three full days of non-stop action. The tournament portion of the competition will have 12 athletes per heat, competing in over 5 events for a chance to qualify into the Bracket. The Bracket is a 32 seed, single elimination format placing athletes head to head. Spectators will have the pleasure of watching these athletes battle it out to stay alive and run the table for a chance to win cash prizes.

Participants and spectators alike will also enjoy shopping for the latest in fitness equipment & apparel at the vendor row, featuring some of the hottest names in Crossfit & Olympic products from over forty vendors. The following is a list of activities:
· Family Fun Zone, where kids can enjoy activities such as bounce houses and carnival rides provided by the Florida Panthers and the US Army
· Over 40 vendors with everything imaginable from the fitness and health industries, and more!
· Raffles and prizes for fans, which will also have a chance to participate in interactive spectator challenges and games.

Crush Games consist of 4 divisions. Athletes will be competing in over 10 events throughout the weekend. The events will be fast, grueling and exciting. The goal is to cater to our athletes, provide a fun, exciting experience for spectators and demonstrate the spirit of competition. Two major differences in this year’s competition are programming and our new and unique Bracket format. We are the only fitness competition of our kind to run a head to head, win or go home competition format.

The competition breakdown will work like this:
ï‚· Amateur divisions consist of 96 males and 96 females.
ï‚· Pro divisions consists of 144 males and 96 females.
ï‚· Masters division (40 and over) consists of 36 males and 12 females.
ï‚· Teams will have two divisions this year, Male Division and Female Division.
ï‚· Male Division consists of 96 teams. A male team will consist of three males.
ï‚· Female Division consists of 96 teams. A female team will consist of three females.
ï‚· 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers will receive an award

MIAMI, FL The Color Mob 5K hits Miami on Saturday, July 27, 2013 and will transform a horde of runners and walkers into a living work of abstract art. Colored cornstarch will be hurled at entrants as they make their way through the course in this fun run, and there will be live music and a beer garden to greet 5K participants when they cross the finish line as newly minted color abstractions that would make Jackson Pollock proud.

In the Color Mob 5K, it’s suggested participants wear white to fully maximize the effect of passing through these vivid Technicolor clouds. Costumes are always welcomed too. The colored corn starch used to “paint” the 5K-ers may take more than one wash to get out of clothing, though, so it goes without saying that no one should show up wearing their Sunday best. Color Mob 5K is open to all ages, with children under age 2 getting in for free. Registration for this colorful event opens at 11am, with racers leaving the start in waves every 5 minutes between 12 and 2pm at Oleta River State Park. A full afternoon at the park followed by live music, a beer garden, and food makes for a fun and unique experience for families, groups, couples and individuals.

While strollers are certainly welcomed, pets will have to stay at home, no matter how adorable they would look covered in bright powder. And for the more serious racers, there’s no reason to bring your custom timing chips because the point of this 5K isn’t to set any personal bests (and it will not be timed); the point is to get blasted with clouds of color and come out the other side of the course looking like the exterior of a hippy bus. Seminole Casino Coconut Creek will give a free demonstration of the GIBBS Quadski, the amphibious personal watercraft, on Thursday, May 23 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the lake in front of the casino. Just another example of its award-winning promotions, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is the first casino in the country to give away the Quadski. Players should jet in for their chance to win!

Events to benefit Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America

Game On Sports Marketing, Inc. announced that the Second Annual Colavita Motivation Man ½ Iron & Olympic Triathlon (www.motivationman.com) will be held on Saturday, June 1 in downtown West Palm Beach. The triathlon, presented by Publix, will benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

The 2012 Motivation Man race attracted over 600 participants and was the first triathlon ever held in downtown West Palm Beach. Organizers are hoping the event will sell out at 1,200 participants this year. The event consists of two races: an Olympic-distance triathlon (.94 mile swim, 25-mike bike, 6.5 mile run) and a Half-Ironman (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run).

The event will encompass all of downtown West Palm Beach, including the Intracoastal Waterway, Flagler Drive and Southern Boulevard. Road closures on race-day include 56 miles of Southern Boulevard, from the Intracoastal in West Palm out to Belle Glade; Flagler Drive and parts of South Clematis, Greenwood and Washington. In addition, the Intracoastal will be closed to boat traffic. The action-packed weekend includes the Publix Health and Fitness Expo, as well as a weekend kick-off party and a post-race awards ceremony and after-party at the famous E.R. Bradley’s Saloon on the waterfront.

“West Palm Beach is the ideal backdrop for a triathlon, with beautiful roads, the Intracoastal Waterway and the tremendous support from the City and Palm Beach County,” said Steve Tebon, CEO of Game On Sports Marketing. “We look forward to welcoming regional, national and international athletes to beautiful South Florida for the 2013 endurance event.”

The Motivation Man Triathlon has received the support of the City of West Palm Beach, the City’s Downtown Development Authority, Palm Beach County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Tourist Development Council and Discover the Palm Beaches. Sponsors include Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Publix, E.R. Bradley’s Saloon, Zephyrhills, Michelob Ultra, Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach and Hyatt Place Downtown.

Tournament of Champions, Inc. Celebrating 20 years of foster the academic and athletic growth of South Florida’s young aspiring athletes

(Miami-FL)-Tournament of Champions, INC (TOC) will present their 18th Annual South Florida All-Star Basketball Game on March 9th, 2013 at Ransom Everglades, Coconut Grove, Fl. (3575 Main Highway, Coconut Grove). The games will start at 2pm. Tickets are $10. This is the largest youth all -star basket ball game in South Florida. The rooster was released last week and the buzz has already begun on social media. Elite players ( Dade vs Broward) will compete for the coveted notoriety title, bragging rights and scholarships. TOC’s All Star games have become a staple within the fabric of the South Florida community.

TOC Inc. has also forged an innovative community partnership with Virrick Park in Coconut Grove and will hold their signature Shoot for the Stars Positive Peer Leadership Symposium and basketball clinic for 150 young people in the community. The symposium and basketball clinic will take place at Virrick Park on March 9, 2013 from 10am-1pm. Former Philadelphia 76ERS World Champion Guard Mr. Wali Jones will facilitate the workshop. Former Miami Heat Mark Strickland and Miami Dade High School All-Star Basketball team will also participate.

In conjunction with its free, live broadcasting of UFC fights, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is hosting a free meet and greet with UFC Champion Rashad “Suga” Evans on Saturday, March 16 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Center Stage. Fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and take photos with Evans. Immediately following the meet and greet, Evans will join fans in watching the UFC 158 broadcast of Georges “Rush” St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz at Stax Poker Lounge and play in a bounty poker tournament throughout the fight. The Miami Marlins will kick off its Marlins Ayudan Week 2013 on Monday, February 4 with local School and Youth League visits taking place throughout the day. Marlins Ayudan Week 2013 will conclude on Saturday, February 9 with the MetroPCS Miami Marlins Winter Warm Up at Marlins Park.

Marlins Ayudan Week 2013 will engage the community through outreach events and signature Marlins Foundation events, including the Annual Marlins Basebowl event at Lucky Strike Lanes on Miami Beach on Thursday, February 7th at 6:30 P.M. and Marlins Trivia Night hosted by The Clevelander at Marlins Park on Friday, February 8th at 6:30 P.M. In addition to the various community endeavors, Marlins players, coaches and executives will be making appearances with South Florida schools, little leagues and corporate partners throughout the week. Ayudan Week will also feature visits from Marlins employees to several Marlins Partner Schools in the Miami area, including check presentations, the raising of Marlins Ayudan flags and the implementation of a Plan of Action at each school to increase student attendance, grades, participation and health and fitness.

The week will conclude on Saturday, February 9 with the MetroPCS Miami Marlins Winter Warm Up at Marlins Park.  The Winter Warm Up is free and open to the public from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M.  Fans can sit in and select their seats for the 2013 season through a variety of season ticket plans, including Full Season, 40-Game Half Season and 21-Game Mini Plans.  Single game tickets will also go on sale for the 2013 season beginning at 10 A.M. at the Marlins Park Ticket Office, and online at marlins.com and marlinsbeisbol.com.  Plus, during the Winter Warm Up, fans can get up to $10 off tickets to Opening Night on April 8th and purchase tickets for the upcoming World Baseball Classic 2nd Round games, to be held at Marlins Park March 12-16.  Fans can also get autographs from Marlins players, walk throughout the ballpark and enjoy games, music, rides and activities for the entire family on the West Plaza.  Winter Warm Up activities will also include the High School Field of Dreams Challenge at 11 A.M., featuring Archbishop McCarthy versus Gulliver Academy.  In addition, all current Full Season, Half Season and 21-Game Mini Plan holders will be invited to exclusive Season Ticket Holder events during the day.  For more information on purchasing a season ticket plan, go to www.marlins.com/seatviews.
