Join Savor Tonight for an epicurean love affair at Marion Miami, voted one of the top ten restaurants of 2016 by Zagat.com and was most recently voted the Best Restaurant in Brickell by Miami New Times.

This French brasserie combines traditional French dishes with flavors of Spain, Greece and Italy, all of which are prepared in-house in Marion’s open kitchen. At it’s helm, is chef Jean Paul Lourdes who worked for the French legend Pierre Gagnaire, before running multiple Michelin-starred restaurants around the world.

Chef now runs the kitchen at Marion Miami and has created a sumptuous, Mediterranean-focused menu, which is enhanced by the exquisite wine and cocktail program.

This will be a happy hour event and is limited to 40 people. Cost is $10 in advance (by 4 p.m. on the day of the event) or $15 at the door. After concluding another amazing ballet season and receiving the best scholarly critic reviews, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will travel to Indonesia to be part of the 2016 International Young Dancers Festival.

This convention will set specifically in the cities of Jakarta and Surabaya from June 14th through June 22nd. The event is conducted on annual basis since 2004 when Denmark hosted first.

Ruby Romero-Issaev, company’s Executive Director, declares that since its inception, they have participated in this festival three times in Denmark, twice in Germany, three times in Poland and currently preparing to host the upcoming 2017 event taking place in Miami which also fuses with the company’s 20th Anniversary. The cultural exchange among countries is the main focus. In addition to a vast array of performances, dance conferences and workshops displaying directors varying manners and styles will be offered. Dancers involved will get to experience different tendencies through a multi-collaborated choreography resulting in a single piece of international magnificence.

Traveling to participate in this festival in Indonesia is a great opportunity for Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida thanks to the support of the Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and private funds. The American delegation is represented by our principal dancer Mary Carmen Catoya with Lillian Hill, Hinano Eto, Renee Roberts and Kayci Rodríguez. They will showcase Don Quixote Grand Pas, music by Minkus and choreography by Petipa and the variations for The Four Seasons, choreographed by Vladimir Issaev and music by Verdi. Guest artist Jun Tanabe former principal dancer for Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida and currently with Nevada Ballet in Las Vegas, will round up this production.

Director Marlupi Sijangga, a dance eminence in the history of Indonesia will graciously host and welcome Artistic Director Vladimir Issaev and his group of excellent dancers. Ms. Sijangga directs 30 dance schools in that country. As a Director of Marlupi Dance, she is also hosting represented companies such as Ballet Fouette from Polonia, Doris Topete Ballet from Guadalajara in Mexico, ESBN from Lima – Perú and Ballet Pirouette from Germany among others.

The festival includes high rank local officials of culture and the Consulate General of The United States in Surabaya, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchanges.

This summer, Manatee Lagoon will offer a chance to learn more about the marine environment and its inhabitants every week with the afternoon lecture series, Sunday Afternoons at Manatee Lagoon. Each week, an esteemed environmental expert will discuss a new topic about our marine environment ranging from the causes and effects of migratory patterns, to how manatees communicate to the dangers of invasive species and more.

This summer, Manatee Lagoon will give kids a peek under the sea and the lagoon with marine-themed storytime every Thursday during Manatee Tales & More. Each specially selected story will teach children about ecosystems and wildlife through engaging tales about fish, clams, manatees and more. Manatee Lagoon’s own Manatee Master story tellers will share various colorful stories about the aquatic species that live in the Lake Worth Lagoon.

Along with the stories, hands-on craft projects will reinforce themes learned from the books. Children ages 3 to 8, under parental supervision, are invited to learn about the Lagoon and its ecosystem through story books in this free, 30-minute session.

Pablo Reynoso is a Berklee College of Music graduated Music producer, Studio Sound Engineer (Recording, Mix & Master) and Sound Designer/Composer based out of South Florida with over 10 years experience in the music business. He has throughout the years thought at different institutions such as the Miami Art Institute & different seminard and is currently a Faculty member at Broward College.

Whether in the recording studio as a Producer, Sound Engineer, Composer or as a live sound engineer Pablo’s talent and impeccable approach to music is very unique and always delivers a top notch quality product & experience.

El Tucan Presents Los Hacheros Weekend Takeover

Offering a departure from the usually scheduled shows, “Weekend Takeovers” will bring to the stage an exciting, new concert series. El Tucan hopes to enlighten Miami by providing access to unique Latin American talent. Once a month, the weekend takeover will also bring great Cuban bands from New York to perform an exclusive 3 day residency.
Performing Thursday, June 16 through Saturday, June 18, Los Hacheros will be the third installment of the weekend takeover. After two successful Weekend Takeovers this past May and April by Chino Pons y Grupo Irek and Gerardo Contino y Los Habaneros, the venue is excited to have Los Hacheros join them this month of June for the next 3 day residency.
RSVP: El Tucan has one live music and entertainment show on Thursday, and two seatings Friday through Saturday. First dinner seating offers availability at 8:00 pm and the second seating over the weekend is at 11:00 pm. Guest should arrive promptly and with all guests in attendance prior to being seated. Tyrrhenian Blue is Antiheroes Project’s latest production, presented with the support of Artefactus Cultural Project. The piece, inspired on the life and death of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the author of the Little Prince, is a contemporary reflection on themes that have been at the core of human existence, such as war, solitude, creativity and human destiny. Written and directed by Jose Manuel Dominguez in collaboration with the team of actors, this work explores the enigmatic disappearance of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, over the Tyrrhenian Sea, France and the events surrounding his last morning.

The story begins in the morning of July 31st, 1944, when André Prevot wakes up Saint-Exupéry for what would turn out to be the last flight of the French pilot. The end of a legendary, controversial, bohemian, and arbitrary man. For years, a life eclipsed by his greatest work. Towards the end of his life, an existence as fascinating as his own masterpiece. What was going on in his life the day of his death? What thoughts was the great humanitarian preoccupied with during his final hours?

The Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA), is offering creative art classes for kids ages 6 through 12. These classes will each offer a different theme to help kids experiment with a variety of art and design techniques in a creative environment. They are taught by gifted art professionals and all projects will be inspired by great works of art, dating from antiquity to the present day.

Come Aboard the International Space Station gives children the opportunity to draw, paint, and construct robots and space ships, as they study science fiction classics, the NASA space program and discoveries in astronomy.

Boynton Beach Mall, Palm Beach County’s one-stop shopping, dining and entertainment destination, will host a Hurricane Preparedness Expo in anticipation and preparation for storm season. Hurricane season begins June 1 and lasts until November 30, 2016. The informative event, presented in conjunction with Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management, is also sponsored by The US Coast Guard Auxiliary, The Red Cross – who will give tips about Hurricane Preparedness and The Home Depot.

Representatives from various public sector agencies will be available to answer insurance, flood, safety procedures and other hurricane-related questions. In addition, a WPBF Channel 25 meteorologist will be on-hand to answer weather questions.
